Professional Biography
Jjunju Emmanuel Davis is a seasoned financial services executive with over a decade of diverse experience in operations, risk management, and compliance within the microfinance and lending sectors in Uganda. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Lecole Finance Limited, Jjunju drives growth and strategic planning initiatives while ensuring the profitability and success of the company. His role is pivotal in supporting low-income business owners who often face barriers to traditional banking services.
Before joining Lecole Finance Limited in July 2022, Jjunju held the position of Head of Risk & Compliance at Umoja Microfinance Uganda. In this capacity, he developed and managed comprehensive risk assessment frameworks that significantly improved operational integrity and compliance with regulatory standards. His proactive approach enabled the identification and mitigation of potential risks while ensuring adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies.
Jjunju’s career also includes impactful roles such as Head of Business at Equator Uganda Microfinance and various positions at ASA Microfinance Uganda Limited, where he specialized in fraud prevention, business development, and operational management. Throughout his roles, he has demonstrated a consistent track record of enhancing customer satisfaction, improving operational processes, and driving company growth.
His academic foundation consists of various certifications from the Youth Achievers Forum and the Young African Leaders Initiative, focusing on business administration, project management, and effective communication. These qualifications, coupled with his hands-on experience, have equipped him with a solid understanding of financial services and risk management in emerging markets.
Jjunju is passionate about empowering underserved communities through sustainable financial solutions and is dedicated to fostering inclusive economic growth in Uganda. In addition to his professional pursuits, he actively participates in community development initiatives and remains committed to lifelong learning and personal development.
