Peruth Ngubirwa, a mother of five, has greatly benefited from the loans provided by Lecole Finance, enabling her to diversify her income streams. She began with a small shop selling bread and soft drinks, using an old refrigerator. However, with continued support from Lecole Finance, she expanded her business by adding vegetables and a dairy section. She was also able to purchase a new refrigerator, further enhancing her operations.
Today, Peruth’s combined business generates a profit of 40,000 to 50,000 shillings monthly. After covering her household expenses, she saves 15,000 shillings. Additionally, she has invested loan funds into pig farming and currently has two pigs, expecting piglets. Peruth has also invested in seasonal farming, increasing her income. She now earns more than 300,000 shillings per season from her farm.
Peruth is currently in her 3rd loan cycle and continues to grow her business and income with the support of Lecole Finance.
Quote from Peruth:
Lecole Finance has transformed my business. When I started in 2006, my shop was not thriving as it is now. Now, I contribute about 35% to my children’s needs, including buying snacks for school, scholastic materials, and other essentials except for school fees, which their father handles. I am also able to pay my shop rent and repay my loan.
